In this I pen the thoughts that I woke up with. It was a fairly lonely start since I’m away from home and yet, there was the spring in my steps and I was raring to go. After all, it was Monday morning! After having spent a completely relaxed Sunday which had ended with a jam packed Karaoke night, I was completely reachrged and I remember having gone to sleep feeling positive about the next morning. Surely, the morning arrived like it always does and it started in the manner I just explained.
It made me think then. Back in my days at the radio station, every Monday was about the “Monday morning blues” and people calling in to say how much they missed the Sunday gone by. That thought took me back into the recent past and I wondered “when was the last time I felt that way?” I could not remember a single instance of me feeling blue on a Monday morning. Not for the last 8 years or so. 8 years ago, back in the days of college of course I dreaded not just Mondays but every working day.
So where did the change come from, I wondered. It didn’t take long to remember what I have always heard people say. Love your work and it will always be play. It’s a love affair of a different kind from what we see in the movies or in college or through teenage. Its deep, real and simply extra ordinary. As I write this, I’m waiting on a few colleagues to complete a task and then we shall leave for the day. The day has gone by like I cant imagine. No big achievements, no big breakthroughs and yet in my head I feel as fresh as ever.
I can simply credit that to love. It is only love that makes one smile no matter what. It makes the one in love calm, composed and brings out a feeling of being invincible. Each one of us has felt it at some point in time or the other. The question is have we felt that about our work? If we have in the past and don’t feel so anymore, something has gone wrong somewhere. It has to be identified and it has to be worked upon.
Figure this out and I promise you the same fun Monday mornings. You will love reaching work as much as you love leaving from there today.
